Fat Boy's Drive In

Yesterday was one of those perfect summer days on the coast of Maine. The temperature topped out around 80 degrees and the clouds were fluffy but sparse.

In the afternoon, thunderheads formed north of us, but it was still warm and breezy along Route One. Around 7:30 that evening, Todd and I found ourselves alone, so we hopped in the car, opened the sunroof, and headed to Fat Boy's Drive In in Brunswick.

Fat Boys is one of those places that takes you back a half century. Most people sit in their cars while friendly young waitresses take orders and bring trays full of goodness to hang on your side car window.

As always, I had a lobster roll and onion rings. Todd had a cheeseburger and fries. A cherry coke and a blueberry frappe completed the feast.

As we sat with windows down, sunroof open, and radio on, we watched the storm clouds to our north and were treated to an amazing sunset that moved from one end of our view to the other. It truly was Dinner and a Show.
