14 November 2012

My husband just informed me that although it is only the middle of November, we have used 1/4 of the fire bricks we bought for the winter.

Yeah, the fire bricks are new for us this year. We bought the equivalent of two cords, and we also bought a cord of firewood, just in case we really hated the bricks.

I don't know what to do with that information, so my plan is to ignore it and pretend I never heard him say it.

Funny things happen when you google the phrase "Maine blogs." Your's was the 2nd or 3rd that popped up.

You live in Maine. I live in the part of NY that locals call "western NY" as opposed to 'central NY' or 'upstate NY.' My in-laws lived just outside of Bath, ME for almost 10 years overlooking the river that makes it way past Bath Ironworks out to the ocean - we visited many times and I miss that.

Once upon a time, I too was a substitute teacher and once a very long time ago, I was a "summer nanny" and a "drop in nanny". This last gig meant that I had a Mon-Fri from 2:30PM - 6:00PM job taking care of 2 adorable kids. They're both grown ups and I still miss them.

We have 3 dogs, 2 of which I walk but I have thought about walking other people's dogs for money. You're absolutely right: it's a good paying gig.

Thanks for giving my early morning a bit of a different start. I loved the photos and, yes, your husband is definitely "hot."

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Kathy - thanks for the interesting comment! My daughter goes to school in NY and we live not far from Bath! And what a coincidence about your jobs.

Hope you are having a happy holiday weekend! :)
